The Deposit Protection Agency (DPA) is an organization in the government sector. It is committed to maximizing the efficiency of the country’s financial instutions to achieve greater financial stability. This requires sufficient staff with skills and expertise that allow them to handle different situations effectively. As a result, the DPA is engaging in considering its manpower to correspond to its vision, mission, stategic issues, organizational structure and objectives. The objectives of this revision are: 1) to analyze the appropriate number of staff that corresponds to the actual workload and determine a management plan accordingly, in a theoretically appropriate manner, and 2) to arrive at accurate understanding of manpower planning that is in line with future workload of the DPA.
To meet the objectives, the DPA strategic plans were revised. There were also interviews about the DPA’s long-term missions, workshops intended to create better understanding on the issue, data gathering to prepare for proper manpower planning, reports on the analysis of human resources corresponding to the mission of each department and a Train-the-Trainer program for the Human Resource Department.
The objectives were attained – the appropriate number of staff corresponding to the mission was determined and a manpower management plan was formulated in a theoretically appropriate manner. |
